Still he perseveres, supplying covers and interiors for some issues of Canadian hero, Auroraman, Frogman #3: The Death of Frogman and working as the co-creator of The Organ Grinder, a character that first appeared in the independent anthology series Undertow published by 7th Wave Comics based in Seattle. That title is a mouth-full…..So much so that the thought of writing this review of this weeks episode in the voice of Elmer Fudd is an undertaking that couldn’t be done justice (trust us, we started and deleted multiple times a start to this with his speech mannerisms and its just hard) But besides that, Linz brought her son Conner into the studio talk a bit of comics with Tony.
Tony reviewed Batman/Elmer Fudd #1, which partly explains the title this week. It was one of the best crossovers in the series so far. Even though Tony dislikes Noir, it was so well put together that it felt like a regular day in the life of Batman. Conner reviewed Iron Fist #5. Although he is new to reviewing, we will give it an OK for now. Linz reviewed the long on hiatus of Sabrina #7. The world that has been created, and the art style is so unique that both Linz and Tony wish it would be on a more regular schedule.
Not a whole lot of news this week. Some numbers for Spider-Man opening and also some talk about what is holding up the Spawn movie. The biggest surprise was another Batman animated movie from DC. Tony is so happy he is finally getting an animated movie made. Heavy Sarcasm on that statement.
Booze and a Book was The Wicked + Divine #29 paired with an Alley Cat cocktail.

So as the title of this episode says, Josh, Linz and Tony all were invited to see the sneak preview of Spider-Man: Homecoming. And while they had a lot to say, Josh decided he wanted to be Spider-lame and sit this one out. While Linz and Tony tried to not give away too much of what they say, the beginning 15 minutes has them discussion a bit about the movie. So there is your spoiler warning.
Off the Shelf, Tony briefly talked about what Marvel is doing right with Secret Empire #5. While there is some of the same tropes being used with the dead coming back, the over all story is one of the better “events” they have done in a while. He also was sad to hear that The Flintstones comic has ended. He went over some of the themes portrayed in the series, and why it is one of the best comics in recent memory. Linz also reviewed an ending to a series with Jem and the Holograms #26. The characters will live on in other series, but the main one ended a few months ago and Linz wanted to share her joy and sadness over it.
The duo also talked about some thoughts from some directors. The new Hellboy movie is going to be darker and rated R. The Power Rangers hasn’t had the greatest box office return, and the director of that thinks it is because it was not pg. (Linz and Tony think it would have been way worse if it was)
Booze and a Book was Jem and the Holograms #26 and a Strawberry Short’s Cake from Shorts brewing.
