We had a full house for this weeks podcast, with Tony, Linz, Derek, and newbie Josh all in attendance. We had a lot to talk about this week, but that never stops us from talking nonsense for at least the first 5 minutes of any podcast. This week was no different.
Once we got down to business, we had some great discussions about Power Rangers (of course), Infinity Gem theories, and the death of beloved actor Ron Glass. We threw some love at Dirk Manning for the results of his Kickstarter and shared a warm-fuzzy moment about the Dark Crystal. Linz tried to show some love to John Cleese, but she got the smack-down pretty quickly for that (not that we don’t all love John Cleese, but you’ll have to listen for context). The gang also discussed how the Bud Light Superbowl contest is our very own Willy Wonka’s golden ticket.
Linz got indepth with her review of AD: After Death from the powerhouse team of Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire. The book is definitely something to pick up and definitely is pushing the boundaries of comic books in all the best possible ways.
Booze and a Book this week was Saga #40 with a great cocktail called The Robot.
Welcome to Back When We Were Interesting, where we talk about the stories and the experiences that make us and you, interesting. We’ve officially entered the holiday season and Shelley and Francis begin the spirit with some talk about Black Friday. And the reason we do Black Friday is for gifts, either for ourselves or others, and we talk about our history of gift giving, the best and worst gifts, and presence of presents. We cover all that, and so much more, on this week’s Back When Podcast.
Phoenix Da Nerdette and Kyle The Marvel Zombie are joined by The LEXFactor Show‘s Lex Noil and Tyler Touchdown to talk about the melting pot of excrement that of a year that is 2016, and its everlasting stream of disappointments: from the Deaths of David Bowie and Prince, fanboy journalism to cantankerous Presidential Election.
